Cairo
Open SourceStarkWare's provable programming language for writing STARK-verifiable programs, the native language of Starknet.
About
Cairo is the programming language created by StarkWare for writing provable programs whose execution can be verified with STARK proofs. Cairo 1+ is a Rust-inspired language that compiles to Sierra and then to Cairo assembly executed by the Cairo VM, and it is the native smart contract language of Starknet. Its felt252 field arithmetic and VM semantics introduce distinctive bug classes (e.g. field overflow behavior) that differ from EVM development, which specialized tools like cairo-fuzzer target. The compiler and toolchain are open source and maintained by StarkWare.
