Leo

Open Source

A statically-typed programming language for private applications on Aleo, compiling to Aleo instructions proven with zk-SNARKs.

About

Leo is the developer-facing language for the Aleo network, designed to make writing private, zero-knowledge applications feel like ordinary statically-typed programming. Leo programs compile down to Aleo instructions executed and proven by snarkVM, abstracting circuit construction away from the developer. It is maintained by Provable (formerly Aleo Systems) as open source. As with all high-level ZK languages, the compiler is part of the trusted computing base, so compiler soundness is a key security consideration.
